Plans

Over the last year we have worked hard to develop plans that will really meet some of the needs and gaps that local people told us about.

We are now working hard to get funding so that we can start introducing some of the ideas and you will be able to find out more about our progress over the coming months on this website.

Developing our plans

To find out what people wanted we carried out a large consultation across the whole of Cambridgeshire. We did this for two months and sent out questionnaires as well as holding events where members of the public could come along and tell us what would really make a difference in their lives.

We looked at all the results carefully and from these we were able to get a better picture of what was important and what would really make a difference.

Some of the main things that people told us were:

  • They would like more face to face support, especially from people who have faced similar difficulties themselves and can really understand the daily challenges and frustrations that people with support needs face
  • They would like information that was clearer and told them what they needed to know without using difficult language or long forms to fill in
  • They would like to understand more about personal budgets and what these could mean for them
  • They would like better access to transport and employment opportunities
