Lived Experience Drop-In Conferences, 12^th July &

1^st August 2011

This summer we are running two Lived Experience Drop-In Conferences: 12^th July at Burgess Hall, St Ives and 1^st August at The Oliver Cromwell Hotel, March.

At both conferences there will be talks on the access needs and barriers faced by people with a disability or impairment, information stalls from local, regional and national organisations, and a consultation event on "access" and "Self-Directed Support".

Access: Both conference venues have free car parking and full wheelchair access. We will be providing sign language interpreters, a palantypist, loop system and information in easy to read format. Please contact us if you have any other access needs.

Self Directed Support (SDS) Peer Mentor Training, September 2011

We plan to run another wave of our SDS Peer Mentor training to give disabled people and their carers the skills they need to design and manage their own support arrangements, in September 2011. Please watch this space for further information.

Past Events...

Right to Control

Following the release of the governements Right to Control consultation document Cambridgeshire User Led Organisation ran an event on 25 September 2009 to capture peoples feedback on the proposals. Attendees included people with impairments, carers, older people and statutory bodies.

Feedback on the consultation document was provided in small facilitated groups using the toolkit materials provided by the Office of Disability Issues.

The facilitators on the day were:
