Who are ECDP?

Essex Coalition of Disabled People (ECDP) is a User-Led Organisation based in Chelmsford, Essex. Its vision is to enhance the everyday lives of disabled people in Essex and beyond.

ECDP has been established since 1995. It provides a number of services and runs a series of projects which enable disabled people to live independently.

ECDP applied to the Department of Health's User-Led Organisation Development Fund for funding to be a mentor organisation to the area of Cambridgeshire. ECDP has an existing close relationship with Cambridgeshire County Council and currently runs their Direct Payment Support Service. It also has three staff who live and work in Cambridgeshire, providing support services to Direct Payment users.

As a result, ECDP can share its expertise, knowledge and experience of setting up a User-Led Organisation with all relevant people and organisations in Cambridgeshire in order to make this project a success.
